About
Martha Watson
Born stateside, raised global and a recent transplant to Dublin, Ireland.

I was born in Charleston, South Carolina, and moved to Germany with my family at the age of twelve and resided in different cities in Europe and the United States. Born with an enduring case of wanderlust has left me with a visual scrapbook of images, ideas and bits of narrative which are sometimes laid into my work. My sense of aesthetics are greatly influenced by study in France, Spain, Portugal, England and Mexico.
In my abstract work I strive to develop forms that do not follow a traditional way of seeing by responding to the elements of nature like water in the swamp transforming light and refracting images underneath, or the unfurling of a flower, or the shapes created by Mother Nature.

My realism work is a naive style inspired by the historical elements of objects, architecture, and textures.
